  4. Rooted my Droid about a week back and i have it overclocked to 1ghz. phone is just ridiculous. I heard there are people that have it running at 1.3ghz stable.

  6. so let me get this straight you just took all the ups of the droid and compared it to the iphone 3gs

  7. Thanks for first mostly fair comparison.

However, the droid has a higher-resolution, much more readable screen & multi-touch browsers are available.

The droid supports the REAL, FULL internet with flash light & Flash 10.1 when it’s released.

The droid is geared for FREE content pulled from many sources where the IPhone is locked down to mostly paid content, censored by Apple.

But the Iphone is more simple… the one thing Apple has always been able to charge extra for.

  11. Well, with over 5k comments I´m sure this has been mentioned, but still. Comparing browser speeds using the cell network, 3G in this case, is useless. The downlink speed has little to do with how good the signal strength is (the bars). It depends highly on how the load is on that specific cell site as well as other things. Many bars does not necessarily equal high dl speeds. Good review otherwise.

  15. @Roguelycan Ha! there isn’t even a question whether the droid can run it. It has a dedicated GPU; in practice is runs just about the same as the 3gs if not better.

    Comment by Bigfe218 — October 12, 2009 @ 8:37 am

  16. @SicilianStyle I support your decision and yes it is cheaper.

But everything you just listed the droid does it better watching videos is always gonna be better on the droid screen vs the 3gs resolution wise.

I rarely have to zoom in on anything on the droid cuz the resolution is so nice.

  20. You can jailbreak the iphone 3gs! Thats what i did with mine and it’s like a new device!

    Comment by ACDC185 — October 12, 2009 @ 11:38 am

  21. Well if you want to view websites and video you’re barking up the wrong tree for 2 reasons:

    1. AT&T’s shitty network will have you waiting and waiting and waiting for that video or website to load.

    2. The Droid has a much clearer screen than the iPhone. Droid fans are enjoying superior webrowsing and multimedia on a superior network.

  22. i love my droid. I can do so many things with it like an iphone i wouldn’t argue over both of them they’re great phones, but i got myself a droid and enjoying it!

  23. I’m going to purchase the iPhone 3GS. It’s cheaper than the Droid and websites seem to load faster, and I can really see me checking forums/websites, and watching videos about 50% of the time I’m using the phone.

    Comment by SicilianStyle — October 12, 2009 @ 1:14 pm

  24. @pyro74boy: me too. some people say iphone is better for more games, but the most android os phones, especially the droid, could definetly run those games if the developers just gave the droid a chance.

    Comment by Roguelycan — October 12, 2009 @ 1:27 pm

  25. The Droid has already won I know because before I even used the Droid I used my friends brand new Apple iphone 3GS and it is not as good as the Droid and other Android phones. I am getting sick of people saying the iphone is better just because Apple made it and because it has the Apple logo on it. Apple fans Apple sucks at making phones.
